By now you know I've filed to run for Orange County Mayor in 2010 (the current mayor, Rich Crotty, will leave office after 2010 because of term limits). What you may not know is why I am running, and why I am asking for your support.

It's simple: Orange County faces tough times in the coming years, but a county mayor with my public service and business experience can make all the difference. I am running because want to make Orange County a better place to live and work, even while we face new challenges.

Orange County is a great place to raise a family, grow a business, and enjoy all of our attractions and natural ammenities. I want to make sure we continue our path to becoming a world class leader in laser technologies, medical research and academic superiority, while maintaining the charm that makes Florida a worldwide destination.

I am proud to have graduated from Edgewater High School and the University of Miami with a degree in business. Please click on the Meet Bill page to learn about my career in business and my personal civic work in the causes my family and I have cared about for years.

Although I am currently a full-time commissioner representing Orange County's District 5, I have the business and service experience needed to benefit the entire county. My background in running multi-million dollar enterprises and creating jobs is essential experience for setting the agenda as Orange County faces budget reductions.
